The term Bistro , a fanciful corruption of the Russian word for quick probably came from Napoleaon 's grenadiers who heard it during the ill fated invasion of Russia which ended in 1812. But the nature of food that is quick doesn 't lend itself to deep commitment to detail, plating as if you were at a fine dining establishment at the height of its powers. Yet that is exactly what we got at a memorable lunch June 16. Every aspect of this food screamed organizational perfection, pride in the work and most importantly, treating customers as honored guests. It has been a Thomas Keller signature to run his restaurants with this sort of care, but to actually experience it makes one believe in humanity 's ability to achieve heights which most of us can only dream of. All the dishes were executed with simplicity and love for the ingredients. The star for me was a smoked trout, which was presented not as the dry salty generic fish you get in most markets. This was a meaty, delicate filet of trout, rather reminiscent of the otherworldly herring I have had in Amsterdam. served with olive oil and simple onion/potato foundation, it just sang unique and sensuous appetizer. Salad Lyonnais is another star, simply served with perfect lardon and soft boiled egg which made the perfect greens sing with joy. Loved the wine list, with really nice half bottle and by the glass choices with great balance between big names and local finds. Needless to say we will be back for dinner, but the first impression is a major love affair. Have to compliment the thoughtful and stunningly knowledgeable staff which made the entire experience more fulfilling than many three star restaurants which deal in PR more than actual cooking. Bravo to Bistro Jeanty! Bravo a Bistro Jeanty!
A must if you’re visiting Yountville! Service was excellent and the food is outstanding. I ordered one of their specials- Diver Scallops… unreal to say the least. Highly recommend the Truite Fumée a L’ hulie if you like smoked trout. Very impressed! Ok (Traducido por Google) ¡Imprescindible si visitas Yountville! best tomato soup. that's the review (Traducido por Google) mejor sopa de tomate. esa es la reseña
My friend and I loved this Bistro so much we dined here twice. Quite frankly, much better than the popular named brand bistro we went to, also in Yountville. Atmosphere feels like a Country French Bistro without being overcrowded and loud like the other Bistro. First time here, we had reservations and sat at a table and received excellent service from Arthur. Second time, no reservations but we got a seat at the bar, service from John was equally as excellent. Cocktails were excellent. Food ordered the two times we were there was the Escargots, Salade Lyonnaise, Crême de Tomate en Croute, Steak Tartare, Cassoulet, Grilled Veal Chop. All the food was beautifully presented, prepared to request and tasted delicious. I love Cassoulet, this one was so good, exceptionally good. Atmosphere: quaint French bistro feel. Service: excellent. Food: excellent.
Maybe the best meal I've ever eaten. The restaurant was quaint but very busy making for a lively atmosphere. Our waiter Arturo was very professional. However, the star here is the quality of the food. I ordered the escargots as an appetizer and they were prepared to perfection. The Tournedos de Bouef was of melt in your mouth tenderness and so flavorful. Despite being more than full, I'm so glad we ordered the chocolate bread pudding as it was insanely good. Bistro Jeanty is a special place and it is understandable why it is so popular.
