Lumiere - Sète

Stopped by with friends whilst wandering around Sete. Quick service and good coffee. Wine measure was fine, but not overly generous.

We stopped by to have a glass of rosé and a glass of bubbles. We were absolutely gobsmacked when we got the bill. 3 euro for the rosé was very fair. I had the smallest glass of bubbles ever (and I’m talking very average bubbles as well) for nine euro!!!!!! It was more like a tasting glass. The wait staff were wonderful. We said we were unhappy about the glass size and the price.... very nicely I might add because we don’t shoot the messenger. The ‘boss’ was perhaps unsurprisingly not there. There appeared to be no manager. The waiter rang the boss who said he’d accept 7 euro and we had to pay and leave immediately !! We now at cafe le Jabary’s where I am having a glass of bubbles twice the size for nearly third the price AND overlooking the canal!! Stay away from here. Tourist trap opposite Les Halles.

I was so disappointed, they treated me poorly, I travel a great deal, and never felt so unwelcome. I would never go again.

Rares sont les bistrots qui peuvent se venter d un tel Acceuil Un service tres chaleureux , personnel très sympathique . Un bon tres moment grâce à tous ces éléments réunis !

Toujours un plaisir de boire un coup au café Lumiere ... le personnel est toujours souriant ... le lieu agréable en plein centre ville ... incontournable
