The menu was given to us and when we see what was on it, we were a bit sceptic. So Many different things to eat.. I was with my brother who is a well known French chef in the Connecticut. We took different dishes as ris de veau , thuna steak , magret , in the menu at 30€. All of what we had was great, I can 't remember everything but none of us was desappointed...quantity is so big and taste so nice...on my side I had two slices of tuna steak... The desert were all perfect... Service is fast enough, not to much... Waiters are very nice.. My brother chef was really happy and enjoyed it. You can go in this place ...
Good restaurant. Very well organized. We were at terrace. It rained. In a few minutes we were all inside. Served efficientely. Large choice of dishes. Tasty. Local food. Old place family of a few generations.Always full. Better to reserve. Authentic ambience with Basque singers.
Having noticed that most of this wonderful restaurant's reviews are in French, I want to assure English readers that this location welcomes all visitors, services them extremely well, and is entirely worth any effort required to locate it. My husband and I came to this establishment through the recommendation of our guide Nadege [Ze Chauffeur] and an excellent recommendation it was! We arrived for a late lunch (Nadege had called ahead) and found that a table had been arranged for us under an umbrella on the grassy hillside adjacent to the lovely village church. The rural Basque landscape that we enjoyed while dining added even more pleasure to the meal. While my husband tried a dish of very tender beef with vegetables and a flavorful sauce, I ordered pork in an exquisite sweet and sour sauce arranged artistically amid seasonal vegetables. Menus are tied to the season and the availability of local products. Our desserts were beautifully presented a large profiterole for my husband and a tarte tatin revisetee for me. Both were exceptional. This is a fine dining experience for a moderate price. Nadege told us that for many years the chef had run the best restaurant in Biarritz, but had decided to change scenery and work from this rural village. Certainly happy that she knew of its existence because our meal was the best that we had during our two week western France visit, and we had a number of truly superb meals.
I went there very long time ago and the restaurant has improved in quality and service a lot. The menu is sumptuous, most of the dishes are unique and tasty....near perfect. Then after copious lunch, don't forget to have a walk to Pas de Roland.....really romantic.
We went to this restaurant on the advice of a friend and were extremely pleased with the food, the service, and the menu. They had many items to choose from for lunch with many of these items being local specialities and things that you don't necessarily see in Paris of especially in the United States. Definitely worth going to!
