Locanda San Silvestro 1 - Mendrisio

We stayed for 3 nights in the hotel and had dinner twice (restaurant closed on the first night). We could not have made a better choice. Great atmosphere, friendly and personable service and 2 fine dinners. Great hotel stay!!!!

Great location, nice place, good food. I had poached egg, green asparagus and Reggiano wafer; Risotto Carnaroli alla carbonara and chocolate and almond cake. I think there is room for improvement to make the food experience more unique.

The place is a great balance of modern design and furniture and period features of a traditional Ticinese townhouse. The food is excellent, the staff is friendly and helpful and it’s always quite busy. We have dined there several times and as they change the menu on a regular basis, we got to try out many dishes. It’s also a good idea to check in in one of their rooms, they are cosy and beautifully designed, the breakfast buffet is really generous. Summer is a good time to enjoy the outside spaces but in srping or autumn the earthy feeling of the space makes it even more special.

The dining room is an exquisit combination of original elements and modern design. A relatively reduced selection of traditional Ticinese/Italian dishes, good quality ingredients, nice presentation. Very motivated and professional staff. good price/quality relationship. A great place to go back to.

Atmosphere, service and food is just great. It is always worth a visit, but a real highlight, especially in summer! Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5
