It is a great kid friendly place. Great food and drinks and I, as a mom, can enjoy it all while the kids play.
Growing up in a small town (but living primarily in the City scape my entire adult life , I 've always had a soft spot for the mom pops /off the beaten path places (another reason to Road Trip when living in the city on a lazy weekend, etc . I really, truly take in the 'big picture ' of places if the service/food is/are less than stellar (are they insanely busy? Short staffed? NEW staff in training? Out of a certain product, etc, etc when giving a place a chance (or two....or 12 but went to this place about 5 years back when it was the Rock 'n 'Roll themed place owned by a Sugar Shack candle co owner (great food, prices service and now as Wit 's End have been there twice (within the span of about 3 months . I 'm being diplomatic here and not b*tchy just to be b*tchy: when eating at Wit 's End both times this barn sized place was COMPLETELY vacant except for, both times, myself (age 50 and my elderly parents. First time the waitress just sat there at the bar screwing with her ! texting: Um, could we get some service please? Maybe a menu and some water? Hello? Bueller? . (sneer followed by slamming down of the phone . Simple hamburgers for all of us. She vanished in the back/kitchen and didn 't emerge again for FORTY FIVE MINUTES with our EXTREMELY simple orders (they were 'okay ' for hamburgers, nothing special . Finding ourselves in that area again and quite hungry and, more importantly, NOWHERE ELSE TO GO we decided to try it again. This time there actually was ONE other table of four teenagers (it was a sunday . This time we got the omigod you 've gotta try the chicken fried steak special . This time it took an HOUR AND TWENTY MINUTES to get the d*mn food. The anticipation for this 'slobbering good ' piece of meat came crashing down when the CHILDREN 'S PORTION/ungodly expensive meals came out FINALLY, when we were about to start eating the NAPKINS out of starvation (can we get some CRACKERS or something while we wait FOREVER for our SIMPLE orders? . Coming from a small town, i 've always got the antennae out for the we don 't like Your Kind Here kind of Twilight Zone **** but....aside from snippy smartphone bimbo the first time didn 't get that vibe just an APPALLING wait time for NO DISCERNIBLE REASON. If you have an entire afternoon/evening to kill, i guess i 'd recommend it but frying an egg on your car engine would be preferable. I won 't be going again, ever.
Love this place, the New Owner Amanda, is awesome and dishes out some AWESOME food, if your in the area Check out Wits End.
Absolutely impressed by this hidden treasure! Great staff, good food, perfect location! We'll be back!
