We wanted to go somewhere new for a special occasion and chose Forage because of its farm to table menu and its partnership with the local Surfrider Foundation chapter (where Forage pledges toeliminate single use plastics). The meal and cocktails did not disappoint everything we ordered was incredibly flavorful andfilling. Our favorite items were the mixed mushroom plate, the beans on toast, and the bluefish. We loved the cozy atmosphereand everyone seemed to be having a great night. We will definitely be back!
I came here a few weeks back and got the vegan tasting menu with the rest of the party (3 people in total). I thought the food was solidly prepared, was clearly very fresh, and had a lot of local and seasonal elements to the plates. That said, I wishedthey outlined how many courses came with the tasting menu or increased portion size for the vegan selection as I was personallyexpecting more food overall given the equal pricing for vegan/omnivore plates. While I was unable to find information on how tomake a reservation with them, they apparently do take them as we were told all the inside seating was reserved, which was adisappointment as they appeared to have only about 40% of their seats filled and we only saw maybe 1-2 small parties arrivebefore they closed at the end of the night from our table outside. That said, I had a great time here, the atmosphere wasrefined but relaxed, and our server had great recommendations, and was very knowledgeable, friendly, and did a fantastic joboverall.
As always, absolutely amazing. It's a bit pricey for sure but well worth it. We had the vegan tasting menu w/ the wine pairings and it was fantastic! The food looked and tasted so fresh and the flavors were wild! We have always had a glass of wine wheneating here previously but this time we sprung for the wine pairings and man was it worth it!! Love having such an amazing veganoption!
Got a recommendation from someone who has been in the Cambridge restaurant scene for decades and for those of us who miss Little Osaka and Joyce Chen from Fresh Pond it's so heartening to realise that you can eat better in Cambridge on Charles nowadays thanin London or Paris. This place has a killer wine list and a farm-fresh elegance equal to none. All of my wine selections weresuperb revelations and from the look of the menu I could come back again and again and be wowed every time. The imaginative yetpotent taste combinations bring you straight into the Epicurean delight, served with informed, no-nonsense panache. Thank youStan
I've been wanting to eat at Forage for a while, and got a last minute outdoor dinner reservation. The tasting menu was asparagus (not my favorite) so we went a la carte. Also with the tasting menu, I'm not currently drinking and you can't exclude alcohol(unlike other places which give you the flexibility to choose whether you want alcoholic pairings). It wouldn't make sense topay for the tasting menu if you're not going to be drinking. They did have one non-alcoholic beer on the menu...that they wereout of. We started with the Steamed Mussels, Wild Greens, and side of Iggy's bread. It's not a great sign when Iggy's bread(not made in-house) is easily the best thing out of the initial starters. Except for the few sitting in broth the steamedmussels were oddly plentiful yet devoid of flavor. The wild greens felt like someone had taken a small handful of weeds from thesidewalk, kind of cooked them a little, and thrown them on the plate. The main dish we split, Lion's Mane Mushrooms, wasincredible. Excellent composition and flavor. It's the only reason this meal wasn't a total failure, especially at the pricethey charge. Overall pretty disappointed and definitely wouldn't go back. There are better restaurants in this area for thisprice point.
