Bar Restaurant L'hostal - Cabanes

Called first of all whilst cycling yesterday, only had a bocadillo but was so impressed, returned with my wife today for lunch. We do like to read a menu as it gives us time to understand the Spanish, however the charming lady took her time in explaining the numerous choices for both the first and second courses. Mixed salad arrived as did the wine, followed by tostadas with alioli and crushed tomato with olive oil. All very tasty! I had aubergine stuffed with seafood in a rich tasty sauce, delicious. My wife had a large bowl of canelloni again in a rich creamy sauce. We both had lamb chulletas with garnish. For the postre I had corejado con miel (sorry about the spelling) while my wife had tiramasu. Excellent! Coffee followed, finishing off an excellent meal. Pleased to say we were the only English people in this lovely restaurant which is a gem of a venue, tucked well away from the prying eyes of tourists! All this for €15. Thankyou for a lovely experience, we will return.

Restaurante agradable con buen menú a 16€ el domingo. Nos pusieron una ensalada que entraba en el menú por cortesía de la casa. He visto que hacen paellas para llevar. Muy agradables, nos dejaron pasar con nuestro pequeño perro y le ofrecieron agua. En el pueblo tienes una bonita iglesia, cárcel, arco romano, merece la pena darte un paseo por él.
